What’s new

What changed in Sema, and when.

Every change a business would notice, in plain words, newest first. Nothing here costs extra: it is on every plan unless the pricing page says otherwise.

October 2026

  1. Book from your website chat

If you take bookings, your website chat now offers Book a time: a visitor chooses what to book, a day and a free time, leaves their WhatsApp number, and the confirmation and reminders go on WhatsApp. A Book a demo button on your own site can open the chat straight at one service.

  2. Your website chat and WhatsApp, as one

The website chat can say who answers and offer your WhatsApp number, keeps the page each visitor started on, and an assistant can answer the website at any hour while WhatsApp keeps yours. Leaving a number now rests on the visitor tapping under your own words, not a box ticked for them. And your own system can keep what the AI answers from in step through the API, so it never quotes an old price.

  3. Someone on call when something stops working

When a customer writes that something is down outside opening hours, Sema alerts the people you name on WhatsApp and by email, tells the customer so, and alerts again after 30 minutes if nobody has replied. AI answers also no longer start with a label: they read like your team, and the AI still says it is your assistant if a customer asks.

  4. Lower prices, a Solo plan, and free replies

Every plan now takes a smaller share of each message, and a new Solo plan at KES 1,490 a month suits a business of one. The first 1,000 replies a month on each number are free, and Scale caps what Sema adds to an update. You can also set the most Meta may charge for an offer.
