For schools, colleges and training centres

Every parent reached, and every notice on the record.

Fee balances go home on a printed slip that never arrives. A change of closing date reaches half the parents. And the parents who message the school reach a bursar’s personal phone. Sema sends notices to the parents of a class, a stream or the whole school, and answers them from one inbox.

Ready for your trade

Your customers’ data, protected

Parents’ numbers and children’s names are held to the same rules as any customer’s: only the staff who should see them, and only as long as the school decides.

Roles the database enforces

Owner, admin, manager, agent, billing and viewer. The billing role reads the money and never a conversation, however it connects.

Two-factor sign-in, for everyone

An owner can require a code from an authenticator app of everybody in the workspace.

An activity log

Sign-ins, failed sign-ins, team changes and keys: who, when and from where.

Consent on the record

When and how each customer agreed, as Kenya’s Data Protection Act asks, and STOP honoured in English and Kiswahili.

Kept as long as you choose

Messages kept until deleted, or from 30 days to five years, and a customer’s data exported or erased on request.

Is it working?

Sema checks itself every minute, and says what it found on its status page.

What people ask first

Can we message just one class?
Yes. Tag contacts by class or stream, save the audience, and send to it. The reach and the cost are shown before anything goes.
What if a parent does not want messages?
They send STOP, and they are not messaged again until they opt back in: not by a campaign, an automation or an agent’s template.
Can parents pay fees in the chat?
Yes, into the school’s own paybill: the office sends the M-Pesa prompt from the parent’s conversation, with the child’s name as the reference, and sees it paid, with the receipt, once M-Pesa confirms it.
We have several campuses.
Each campus can have its own number and team, in one workspace, with the office for each answering its own parents.

Start with one class.

Import its parents, send one notice, and see who reads it and what it cost.
